ABSTRACT: Phytochemical screening of Bauhinia Racemosa leaves reveals the presence of carbohydrate, alkaloids and tannin. Aqueous, ethanol, Chloroform, acetone, petroleum ether extract of leaves of bauhinia racemosa (caesalpiniaceae) were prepared and its antibacterial activity were studied by disc diffusion method against certain pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococus aureus, Salmonella typhimurium, proteus vulgaris, pseudomonas aeruginose, B. megaterium. The ethanol and acetone extracts were having good antibacterial activity as compared to other extract.
