ABSTRACT: The article describes the results of analyses of tissue reaction to implantation of mesh endoprostheses, the surface of which was coated with diamond-like carbon coating, into the anterior abdominal wall of rats. Samples of implants were placed subcutaneously without any additional fixation, mesh uncoated implants were used as the control group. The material was analyzed on the 7th, 21st and 180th day after its implantation. The findings indicate better biocompatibility and better biointegration of mesh implants with diamond-like carbon coating into the surrounding connective tissue in the process of long-term encapsulation.
