The bacterial flora isolated from healthy individuals were Streptococcus mutans, S. salivarius, S. mitis, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and that from infected individuals were Streptococcus mutans, S. mitis, S. sanguis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Haemophilus haemolyticus and Neisseria subflava.
