ABSTRACT: The biological effects of non-conventional insecticides, sumilarv ( pyriproxyfen 0.5 WP ) and flubex (diflubenzuron DT 6%) against the mosquito larvae of Ae. aegypti (L.) have been evaluated. The IC50 values of the diflubenzuron and pyriproxyfen were 0.0013ppm and 0.003ppm for Ae. aegypti ..The mortality percentage of mosquito larvae ranged from 10-38% and 5-18% for the diflubenzuron and pyriproxyfen respectively. In addition to the delayed lethal action, larval treatment with the two IGRs, pyriproxyfen and diflubenzuron caused reducing in the reproductive potential of mosquito adults that emerged from these treatments. Pyriproxyfen caused a 22-93% decrease compared to 18-95% for diflubenzuron.. Further evaluations and studies on IGRs products against mosquitoes should be conducted for using in management strategies in the control of Ae. aegypti.
