ABSTRACT: The technological directions of energy saving in winter wheat grain production, an advanced technological set of machinery, and the structure of the components of total energy expenditure are substantiated. The purpose of the paper is to substantiate the reduction of the energy intensity of winter wheat grain production due to design and technology factors and combining operations when implementing manufacturing processes. The comparative assessment of machines and sets of machines on the energy criterion is made in a differentiated way, with regard to the individual components of total energy expenditure in the compared wheat cultivation technologies. The proposed technology ensures the improvement of the energy efficiency of grain production by 42 per cent.
