ABSTRACT: The newly synthesized thiazolidinone derivatives were evaluated for anti-ulcer and antibacterial activities. The anti-ulcer activity of thiazolidinone derivatives was screened by pylorus ligation and ethanol-induced ulcer methods in the doses of 20 and 30mg/kg. All the four test compounds showed significant percentage preventive ulcer ratio when compared to standard. The antibacterial activity was screened by agar cup plate method and the test compounds have also shown significant activity against gram-positive and gram-negative organisms compared to their standards.

KEYWORDS: Anti-ulcer; anti-bacterial; thiazolidinone
